About 1200 people started to shoot 24 different topics in 12 h.

Today I got a mail, that I’m one of the 200 best members, therefore I’m looking forward to the award ceremony on 25th of November in Vienna (19:00, MesseCongressCenter). There I will get my CF-card with my photos back.

Also letzten Samstag war ich einer von knapp 1200 Teilnehmern des Fotomarathons in Wien. Beginn war um 9:00 am Messegelände. Man bekam die Speicherkarte bzw. einen Analogfilm, eine Tasche mit Stadtplan, einer Eintrittskarte für die Modellbaumesse, einer Packung Mannerschnitten und einem Red Bull. Die Themenliste wurde ca. eine halbe Stunde später verteilt.

Man bekommt also 24 Themen, hat 12 h Zeit und muss die Fotos in der richtigen Reihenfolge in *.jpg abfotografieren (es dürfen auch nur 24 Fotos + Startnummer auf der Speicherkarte abgegeben werden, die nicht nachbearbeitet werden dürfen).

Mit der Themenliste hatte ich keine wirkliche Freude, da die Themen für meinen Geschmack viel zu eingeschränkt und auch zu sehr auf die Sponsoren konzentriert waren.

Naja, wie auch immer, ich habe mich durch die Themen geschossen (ideenlos war ich beim 16. Thema: Radio Arabella) und habe meine Speicherkarte gegen 17:00 abgegeben (man kann die Fotos im Dezember wieder abholen).

Die 20 € Startgeld für den Marathon fand ich ok, die Themenauswahl gefiel mir allerdings nicht und die Atmosphäre ist nicht so angenehm wie bei den Photowalks.

Am Abend habe ich mir noch den Cirque du Soleil - Varekai angesehen - wieder einmal ein Spitzengesamtkonzept: lustig, tolle Musik, unterhaltsam und spektakulär.

Espacially mathematics and physics consume a lot of time.

My lectures (Vorlesungen) are:

In Deutsch: Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik (VO…Vorlesung, UE…Uebung), Mathematik A (VO, UE), Technik und Ethik (VO), Physik (VO, UE), Chemie (VO) und Einführung in die Informatik (VO, UE).

In English: Basics of electrical engineering,  mathematics, technics and ethics, physics, chemistry and computer science.

I am going upload a few pictures of my daily routine  in a few weeks (I have to get my cam Canon A710 from Klagenfurt firstly). But I’ve got one shot so far (it looks like the prison of Graz-Karlau, but it’s inside the TU):

I think we were 10 photowalkers and it was really funny, even though the weather wasn’t perfect.

But I have to criticise the public transport system from Graz to Eisenstadt. With the train you can go via Bruck a. d. Mur, Wiener Neustadt and Soporn (Hungary). Departing in Wiener Neustadt it is also possible to take a bus to Eisenstadt . Nevertheless it took about 4 h to get from Graz to Eisenstadt.

Especially sunset pictures without clouds and smooth colour gradients (Farbverläufe) are affected by this problem.

In the Internet-fora I read that the gradings are the result of 8-BIT-JPEGs and above all the different quality and settings of our TFT-panels, mainly the brightness and contrast.

My answer was to commute my RAW into Black&White files. The BW-gradients are easier to handle with, I think.

There we have unasked animals (always the same species) for years (these animals are able to struggle through bricks).

Here you can see one of this shy animals (a younger one) in our house:

They are looking really sweet, but they are annoying and dangerous (once, my uncle had to go to hospital because of this animals).

But we caught this one and let it free on another place.
